Why do I have more than one channel? Well, YouTube doesn’t exactly like channels that have a very diverse style of videos so each of these channels has a much more specific focus. About Me
Hi, my name is Morgan and I’m one of the woodworkers you may have come across on YouTube. I started putting out videos on YouTube back in 2018, but I didn’t start with woodworking. For almost two years I spent my time focusing on landscape photography and trying to find cool shots all around Banff National Park. So, you might be wondering why I fully transition to woodworking in 2020, well it’s all because of photography. When I started printing some of my photos I really wanted to have them framed but the cost of framing was too high, so I hopped on YouTube and looked up how to make quality frames for yourself. Thus began the obsession with woodworking, because working with my hands was proving to be something I had been missing until this point. Right near the end of 2019 was when I first got my planer and jointer and was able to start working with quality hardwoods. Then in 2020 with the global situation, I was stuck at home and spent every day working on projects and learning everything I could about Fine Woodworking, trying to step up the quality of my furniture.
What I love most about woodworking is the ability to constantly learn new things. When I hear some of the older woodworkers talk about how they are still learning little lessons on every project, it makes me excited to be able to work at this craft for the rest of my life.
As for style, I take inspiration from three different traditional styles, Craftsman, Shaker and Greene & Greene. What I like about each one is the simplicity and I work hard to make every item I create timeless. For each project I work on whether it’s a piece of furniture or a charcuterie board, I look at it more as artwork rather than just woodworking.
